Point is that such a scanner does not exist, because scanenrs are not currently used to scan films such as the ones you describe, at least on a scale which justify the investment (or that is what industry assumes).
Ah, but such a scanner will be introduced at NAB 2004. Designed for shrunken, damaged film (or paper prints) of any format (35mm or narrower). (Larger formats available on special order.)
