  WCG's June newsletter is now online (385K PDF file).

• The WCG website is migrating to a new server this summer and may become unexpectedly unavailable.

  For the past twelve years, the WCG website has generously been hosted by Conservation OnLine (CoOL), the web service for conservation and allied professionals founded and nurtured by Walter Henry as a project of the Preservation Department of Stanford University Libraries. In June, Conservation OnLine fell victim to budget cuts at Stanford, but AIC quickly stepped in to take over responsibility. The WCG website will soon be migrating to AIC's server. The change should be seamless to users, but we apologize in advance if there are glitches along the way.

  WCG would like to thank Walter Henry for hosting our website from its inception in 1997, and for his outstanding contribution to the field of conservation through the Conservation DistList, which he created in 1987, and Conservation Online, which he created in 1993.

The Washington Conservation Guild (WCG) is a nonprofit organization of conservation professionals dedicated to preserving art and historic materials. Founded in 1967, WCG serves as a regional forum for its members and as a resource to the public for learning about the care of personal collections.
